PS3 System Software Update 4.10

| February 9, 2012 | 0 Comments

I’ve just noticed a new updated (4.10) has been released for the PS3, it was released yesterday 8th Feb 2012.

The update is very small coming in at 180MB and from the PlayStation website it contains 3 changes:

Setting the date and time automatically
We now have the ability to set the time & date automatically on the PS3 but wasn’t hat there before? I could have sworn it was but I wonder if this will now fix the PS3 from having the wrong time, a widely known issue.

The Internet browser has been improved for better content display

The built-in browser has now been updated to better support interactive websites and page layouts are better displayed.

The renaming of PlayStation®Network account to Sony Entertainment Network account

You probably already know the PSN has now been officially renamed to Sony Entertainment Network. I assume this is all part of Sony doing an overhaul on their brand to better complete with Microsoft Xbox in terms of being a house hold name. Looking at my control panel on the PS3 I can see my account is still called PlayStation®Network even after rebooting the console 🙂
