I think I can fly but others probably dont

It was only last week that I’ve started to get the hang of flying the Hind & Apache in Bad Company 2. Before then the best I could do was perform a back flip during take-off killing everyone on-board but thanks to private matches with Onslaught mode I can fly for a bit further now.

In this game I joined Mike and Dave defending the last base on Isla Inocentes. I spawned beside the heli-pad so decided to jump in but noticed I was being joined by Dave. I already knew Dave could fly these as I was a gunner for him in a previous game, so I jumped out to give him the pilot seat. Unfortunately I had no mic (yep Donacha I said it) so I assume Dave had no clue why I jumped out so I jumped back in.

As I was taking off I could see a number of enemies sitting on a ledge to the left. As they were stationary I thought they would be easy targets so I flew towards them. Dave didn’t see them until the second pass but couldn’t aim directly at them; I’m thinking it was due to the height and level I was flying. After a few passes Dave couldn’t reach them so I decided to take us in closer so Dave could blast them from the ledge, bad idea!

Thankfully Dave and myself managed to jump from the helicopter and give me the opportunity to gun down the enemies that were sitting on the ledge.

This video is a perfect example of why having a mic is important. If I was on the mic I am sure Dave would have either been the pilot or he could relay back to me the best height to fly at so he could blast the enemy.

I have 40GB of Bad Company 2 videos to go through so hopefully I’ll have some more added soon.

Atacama Desert onslaught is great for practising in helicopters 🙂

That’s the reason why I bought onslaught when I read one of your previous posts that you mentioned it.

Its how I learned to actually get off the ground without performing that fantastic backflip lol.
